Unemployed Status:
You must be currently receiving state-administered unemployment benefits.

Income Restrictions:
This maximum household income is $77,560. That will include the income of all occupants 18 years or older.
Mortgage Loan Requirements:
You must owe $258,690 or less on your home's mortgage, including subordinate loans. You must be less than $7,500 past due on your mortgage payment(s).
Occupancy Requirement:
Homeowners must occupy the residence as their principal residence and the property must be located in the state of Alabama.
Other Property Restrictions:
The homeowner cannot rent, lease, sell, assign or transfer any interest in the residence to another party and will not enter into any agreement, understanding or other arrangement without prior approval of AHFA. The homeowner cannot use the residence as investment property and will not receive any income from the residence or the land. The homeowner cannot use the residence as a recreational, seasonal, vacation or second residence.
Servicer Approval:
Although your application for HHA assistance may be approved, your mortgage servicer will determine if your loan qualifies for participation in the program.
