The Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) would like to invite you to participate in Hardest Hit Alabama (HHA), a foreclosure prevention program supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Hardest-Hit Fund. Through HHA, approximately 8,500 Alabamians may receive mortgage payment assistance for up to 12 monthly mortgage payments or $15,000.

Eligible unemployed homeowners with a property located in a Federally Declared Disaster County will be eligible for assistance not to exceed a total of 18 consecutive monthly payments, or $25,000.

As a servicer of mortgage loans in Alabama, we encourage your company’s participation. The enclosed package provides the information your company needs concerning the program as well as the information HHF needs to confirm your company’s participation. 

A successful program in Alabama will enable more homeowners to remain in their homes and lenders to maintain their current portfolios. We appreciate your cooperation in administering HHA for your borrowers. Please download the enrollment package and return as soon as possible so we may move forward in our efforts to help Alabama borrowers who need assistance.
